Galina Poloz hails from Moldova. After graduating with honors from the Chisinau Art College, she moved to Tallinn, Estonia; where she pursued another honors degree at The State Estonian Academy of Art.
The breezy Baltic summers influenced the artist's work, enriching southern expressionism with a colder northern restraint on graphic development.
Poloz works with a plethora of different mediums: canvas, paper, silk, glass, wood, and plastic. But her expression of choice remains on the canvas, she invariably returns to the canvas to create abstract paintings, her most powerful instrument of visual communication. In her abstract works she tries to find a balance & equilibrium point between the cultural code and the environment in the different countries she has lived in.
