Galina Poloz was born in Moldova. There She graduated with honors from the Chisinau Art College. After that she moved to Tallinn (Estonia), where graduated with honors from the State Estonian Academy of Art. The Baltic culture influenced the artist's work, enriching southern expressionism with northern restraint and graphicity.

She has received a number of awards and prizes from Russian Academy of art, Creative Union of Artists of Russia and Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Galina Poloz works in different techniques and with different media, such as canvas, paper, silk, glass, wood, pvc. But she invariably returns to the canvas and to abstract paintings, as this is for her the most powerful instrument of visual communication with the viewers.

In her abstract works, she tries to find a balance and equilibrium point of the cultural code of different countries she lived and its environment.

Her works are currently exposed in many private collections around the world, from Europe to the US.
